"How do you combine a Jewish text study with a technology tool? Ask Mindy! She facilitated a Religious School Faculty learning session that challenged the teachers’ thinking and enhanced their teaching toolboxes. Mindy recognizes that technology can be intimidating and her encouraging manner helped teachers try a new tool and leave the session with confidence in their own abilities to use tech tools in their teaching. Teacher feedback included:
“Mindy’s presentation was interesting and relevant.”
“I really liked her presentation style.”
“Mindy gave us clear instructions when we tried the app and I want to try it with my students!”
"Mindy’s facilitation of ‘Texts and Tweets’ was packed with content, process, and heart. She was responsive to our needs leading up to her visit, taking our synagogue and school population into account as she planned the sessions. She is organized, efficient, flexible, creative and compassionate. ‘Texts and Tweets’ combined Jewish text, interactive video content, technology tools, discussion and a creative component. Students and their parents learned separately and then together as parent-child pairs. The content and participatory nature of Mindy’s presentation pushed parents and their children to consider how technology is integrated into their lives and what Judaism has to say about it."
-Alison Weikel, Director of Education, The Valley Temple, Cincinnati, OH
"Mindy is a leader in the true sense of the word – she guides the learner, leads by example and inspires. Her gentle nature is welcoming and she is attuned to a person’s needs as well as strengths. Mindy is motivating and encouraging, which leads people to try new things, which is important in the work that she is doing with technology. We worked together to plan a technology training program for congregational school teachers in Houston. Even though she was the “expert” to share her knowledge with the teachers, I always felt like we were partners in the process and created a program for which we both felt
ownership. Her leadership creates the path for that collaboration."
-Lisa Klein, Managing Director of Jewish Education, Jewish Federation of Greater Houston, Houston, TX
"Thank you for a wonderful, well put together program. Parents were engaged; students were engaged and the culminating activity was well received by all. Teachers felt the Ted Ed was great and easy for kids to understand and process. "
-Anna Besser, Education Director, Congregation Beth Judea, Long Grove, IL
"A belated thank you for all of your hard work during our staff orientation. Your presentation was really helpful and I already see teachers using the technology more often and with more confidence. I will share the article and your suggestions with the teachers. It was really kind of you to follow-up.
As well, I appreciate you searching for the right timeline software. We are looking at that now. And you'll be happy to know that we finally loaded padlet onto all of our devices:)
It was a pleasure to work with you and I hope we will work together again soon."
-Heidi Kon, Director of Religious Education, Chicago Sinai Congregation, Chicago, IL
