Professional Learning
EdtechMMG is dedicated to ongoing, embedded professional learning aimed at supporting how Jewish educators support current and future generations to connect to their Judaism. These Jewish texts, emphasizing collaboration, pedagogy, and the ongoing nature of learning, are integral in informing EdtechMMG's work with Jewish educators.
EdtechMMG's emphasis on traditional havruta (partner) text study and peer coaching cultivates educator partnerships and builds a community of learners focused on transforming Jewish education.
We thrive on the collaborative nature of learning. Our professional learning model encourages educators to seek out colleagues to learn with and from whom they can learn. We see teachers as learners who benefit from the possibilities that reciprocal relationships afford. |
EdtechMMG infuses digital technologies into teaching and learning to empower learners of all ages to ask questions and document their thinking, particularly in ways that are authentic to who they are and how they learn best.
Learners need opportunties to explore Jewish ideas, traditions, and law as well as what prior generations thought about each. , and ideas along, learning from those who have studied before them. We also recognize that are central to our beliefs along with opportunties to as questions and seek out however, we must meet learners on their own path. Through a dual translation of Proverbs 22:6, we see the importance of listening to our learners, providing opportunities for both skill and learn that we should teach “according to the child’s way” but also “according to the way the child should go.” |
EdtechMMG’s approach builds relationships and better teaching from a place of always "turning" and searching for greater depth of knowledge in Torah, in Judaism and in educational pedagogy.
Pirkei Avot 5:26, reminds us that when learning Torah, we should “turn it and turn it again, since everything is in it…” Our learning is ongoing. As Jews, as teachers, as students, there is always more to learn. |
